Murder at jewellery store: Mangaluru police release portrait, seek public help to nab killer

Mangaluru, Feb 6: In connection to the incident where a miscreant stabbed a staffer to death, the police have released the portrait of the suspected killer, from the CCTV footage.

The police, in statement said, “On February 3, between 3-30 pm to 3-45 pm, the following person came to Mangalore Jewellers situated at Balmatta Road, Mangaluru (Mangaluru north police station jurisdiction) in the guise of a gold buyer and stabbed and killed the staff Raghavendra Achar who was alone inside the jeweller. The portrait of the said person was found in the footage recorded in the local CCTVs.

“If any information about the said person is found, it is requested to inform the following mobile phone numbers of the officer under the jurisdiction of Mangalore commissionerate. The informant's details will be kept confidential. 1. ACP CCB, Mangalore City - PA Hegde 9945054333, 2. ACP Central Sub Division, Mangalore City - Mahesh Kumar -9480805320),” stated the release from the police.

It may be recalled, Raghava Acharya (55), the victim who was stabbed to death was head of a financially poor family. They are living on a rented house in Attavar. He used to work in various jewellery shops since some years. For the past seven years, he was employed in the shop where the killing occurred.

    Poor quality of cctv Cameras.Can hardly recognize the face.Cameras facing where crime is being done isnt there .Hope someone recognise him and can be arrested soon.I simply ask why in a jewellary shop only person is left beck?That makes anyone to commit the crime fast and easy.Hope poor family gets some help from some sanghis or owner.RIP

    At this moment it is difficult to know why he had to kill the poor person... But providence will get him caught and pay up for his sins.... With so much evidence and some more CCTV footage to be recovered police will come on top of the case... Guy looks young between 25 to 40....
