Puttur, Sep 12: Honey bee farming is increasing all over the country to realize a dream of prime minister Modi. Farmers of Gujarat have laid more stress on honey bee farming or apiculture.

A youth from the town who has won the Rajyotsava award will be going to Gujarat to train the farmers on honey bee farming. He has already transported 100 colonies of bees to Gujarat. He has been given the responsibility of growing 1000 honeybee colonies in Gujarat.

Manmohan Arambya Tuduve is the youth who is showing phenomenal achievement in honeybee farming. He has already supplied honey and bee colonies throughout Karnataka. The Gujarat farmers have ordered 1000 boxes.

Manmohan started apiculture when he was studying in eighth grade. He started from just one box. Today he has 4000 boxes. From one box he has collected a maximum of 48.6 kilo of honey. He has kept honey bee boxes starting from Bettampady to various parts of Karnataka. He has taken land on rent for this purpose.

Manmohan produces 20,000 kg of honey yearly and 450 kg of gum. Honeyworld is his brand. He is the only youth who sells honey bee colonies and collects pure honey. He has given employment to 20 people.
