'Udupi Dandiya 2022' enthralls Udupians, enhances Navarathri joy

Udupi, Oct 3: “Udupi Dandiya 2022” organised by Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi Kadiyali Udupi was a grand success. The event was held for the fifth year on Oct 1, 2022 at Sharvani Kalyana Mantapa herein Kadiyali Shri Mahishamardini temple.

Dr Raviraj Acharya, president, Kadiyali temple management committee and Dr  Rashmi Acharya inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, president, Coastal Development Authority and other dignitaries wished grand success for the event.

K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA, Udupi, Nagesh Hegde, president, temple renovation committee, Purushottam Shetty, president, Brahmakalshotsava committee, Vasanth Bhat, president Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi, Sumithra Nayak, president, Udupi city municipality, Shilpa Raghupathi Bhat, Veena Shetty and others were present on the occasion.

Raghavendra Kini, secretary Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi welcomed the gathering and compered the event.

Hundreds of people cutting across all age groups joined hand- in-hand and performed dandiya. People were so much involved that they went on dancing for nearly five hours. Ladies wearing traditional Gujarati attire stole the show.

Renowned Kannada film actor Ramesh Aravind and Tulu film actor Chaithra Shetty also performed Dandiya and enthralled the audience.

Rhythm Music Bannanje troupe accompanied with a live band.

A lucky draw was also organised as part of the celebrations. Madhav Bhat of Kadiyali temple won a smartphone worth Rs 35,000 as bumper prize.

Prizes were also distributed for the best male and female Dandiya performers, best outfit among men and women.
