Mangaluru: Inaugural ceremony of St Agnes College student cabinet held

Mangaluru, Sep 29: The inaugural ceremony of the student cabinet of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was held on September 29, 2022 at the Mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Auditorium.

The programme was set into motion by the guard of honour who escorted the chief guest along with the other dignitaries into the auditorium. It was followed by a prayer and an enthusiastic theme dance by the students. 

The chief guest, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Rajendra K V, IAS, spoke about youth being the future of the country and advised them to be careful in this digital world and asked them to differentiate between right and wrong. He also advised them to appreciate and respect the diversity in our country.

The student cabinet for the academic year 2022-2023 adopted the theme of “Lumière - ignite, lead, shine”. A body of 34 student leaders both from the post-graduate and the undergraduate studies took charge as the student cabinet for the academic year 2022-2023. 

Mahima Anna Varghese, the PG student president and Adeline Martha Renjal, the UG student president with their fellow cabinet leaders took the oath, administered by Sr Dr M Venissa A C and also received the badges from her.

Sr Lydia Fernandes A C, the joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, Sr Dr M Venissa A C, principal, Sr Clara A C, vice principal, Sr Carmel Rita A C, administrator, Dr Nancy Vaz, Registrar, Deans, PTA executive members, faculty members, parents, PG and UG students of the college were also present for the occasion.
