Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 27: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, September 27, reported four new coronavirus cases while two cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,015 out of which 34 are currently active. As many as 16 patients were discharged on September 27.

No deaths were reported on September 27. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.94 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Two coronavirus cases were reported on September 27.The total active Covid cases are 25.

A total of 10,90,709 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,279 have received both doses and 2,85,622 people have received booster doses.

Udupi and Karkala registered one case each while Kundapur registered zero.
