Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 19: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, September 19, reported five new coronavirus cases while 10 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,953, out of which 58 are currently active. As many as 12 patients were discharged on September 19.

No deaths were reported on September 19. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.33 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Ten coronavirus cases were reported on September 19. The total active Covid cases are 36.

A total of 10,90,653 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,033 have received both doses and 2,76,765 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported nine cases while Kundapura taluk registered one and Karkala zero. All 10 cases reported were symptomatic.
