Udupi, Sep 8: Monthi Fest was celebrated at Milagres Church Kallianpur here on Wednesday September 8 with devotion and zeal.

Due to rains the traditional blessings of Novem were held in Milagres Tri Centinary Hall. A large number of children offered flowers to Mary.

The solemn Mass was held in the church after the blessings of Novem. The main celebrant of the Mass was the vicar Fr Marcel Saldhana along with Fr Fred Mascarenhas, Fr Vijay Lobo, Fr Edwin Pinto, Fr Agnello D'Souza  and Fr Mark from Kerala.

The 'murdom' of the feast was the late Lazaras and the late Margaret D'Souza's children.

During homily, Fr Vijay Lobo said that all of us have two mothers - one, our mother on earth and the other Heavenly Mother Mary. Likewise, we have three families - our parents, children etc, our church and the holy Christian family.

After the mass scholarships were distributed to toppers of standard 10 and 12 under the aegis of Catholic Sabha Milagres unit. Pratibha Puraskar was distributed to the students of class 1 to PUC, sponsored by murdom of the feast.
