Feb 2: Dakshina Kannada reports 23 fresh corona cases, 8 new in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 02: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, February 02 recorded 23 new cases of novel coronavirus, while Udupi reported 08 fresh cases.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 5,26,819 samples have been tested so far, out of which 4,92,992 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district stands at 33,827, out of which only 285 are currently active.

As many as 24 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The total number of deaths so far is 740.

So far, the district administration has collected a whopping Rs 30,67,050 as fine in 29,463 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 3,36,627 samples have been tested so far, out of which 3,13,283 have turned out to be negative.

As many as 8 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 23,344, out of which only 41 are currently active.

14 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The district has reported 189 deaths due to coronavirus so far.

    Absence of appropriate rules to control the virus should be implemented. People seem to be careless towards the pandemic. Unless strict rules and fine towards non usage of masks and overcrowding are restricted the virus will continue to spread.
