Mumbai, Jan 21: A 17-year-old teenager was booked for impersonating a sales tax officer and threatening a mobile shop owner. The teenager reportedly hails from Vasai and impersonated his grandfather who retired from the sales tax office.
It is said that the boy demanded to see the accounts of a mobile shop owner after he arrived in a car. When the owner of the shop demanded to see the identity card, the photograph was of a man in his late 40s and he immediately called the police.
The boy is said to have stolen his grandfather's identity card who is a retired officer in the sales tax department. The teen was booked under Section 170 of the IPC for impersonating a public servant.
