KCCI writes memoramdum to CM, Tesla to consider Mangaluru as manufacturing destination

Mangaluru, Jan 20: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, functioning as the Apex Body of Commerce and Industry for Dakshina Kannada has written a memorandum to the chief minister B S Yediyurappa and Tesla Co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk to consider Mangalore as the location to set up Tesla manufacturing destination.

KCCI Mangaluru, congratulated the chief minister of Karnataka for his efforts in ensuring that Tesla incorporated a subsidiary in India at ROC, Bangalore on January 8, 2021.

Given the knowledge that Tesla is in the process of conducting a ‘location search’ for setting up their operations and has hired a global consultancy firm for the same, KCCI has conveyed that Mangaluru region is one of the best suited for setting up TESLA’s proposed manufacturing plant in India, and requested the government to promote this location for the plant.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister and Elon Musk, KCCI has highlighted various aspects that would favour the setting up of manufacturing plant such as land, skilled man-power, international airport and connectivity, all-weather port connectivity, inland connectivity, business hub, technology centre, good social infrastructure, good utilities support and so on.

    Great, much needed. I had written about it in some Mangalore region discussion forum to pressurize regarding bringing Tesla unit to Mangalore.
