Kundapur, Jan 16: A drinking water unit donated by Dr Kelkere Bhasker Shetty to Government PU College where he had studied was inaugurated on Saturday.

Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty and Dr Kylkere Bhasker Shetty jointly inaugurated the unit.

Dr Shetty said that more importance is being given on cleanliness and hygiene in schools these days which is also necessary. "Quality education will be possible in schools if local organizations and entrepreneurs join hands along with the government in the development of government schools."

MLA Srinivas Shetty felicitated Dr Kylkere Bhasker Shetty. Block education officer Arun Kumar, school development committee president Mohandas Shetty, municipal council vice president Sandeep Kharvi, former member Sathish, Kundapur PU College principal Ramakrishna G J, vice Principal Vinuta Gaonkar, alumni association secretary Anantakrishna Kodgi, representative Narayana, lecturers and teachers were present.

Lecturer Ganesh Kanchan welcomed and compered the programme.
