Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 13: The government has clarified that in connection with the offline classes which will be resumed from January 15 for undergraduate, postgraduate, polytechnic and engineering degree courses, all students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff etc need not undergo the corona test. However, those who have symptoms of the infection have to necessarily get themselves tested.

All the colleges have been advised to get the mapping done with the nearby primary health centres.

The standard operating procedure has been released in this respect. Student attendance in a class cannot exceed 50 per cent of normal strength and if the students attending classes are more, additional rooms should be allotted. The students coming to institutions have to mandatorily bring food and drinking water from their homes. The students should present consent letters from parents. In the absence of consent letters, students will not be allowed into the classes.

Physical distance should be maintained between students. The number of seats should be adjusted depending on the available rooms and number of students. Teaching, practical and project classes can be held in shifts. Students have the option to attend online classes. Attending either offline or online classes is compulsory. Contact classes can be held every day to address confusions if any of the students attending online classes have. All the teachers should provide study material for a minimum of one month to students by email or telegram. Video lessons, PowerPoint presentations, e-books, e-notes, audiobooks, questions etc should be compulsorily uploaded through the college website.

Before the beginning of classes, college building, main entrance, toilets, rooms, furniture and study books should be sanitized. Thermal screening and sanitiser arrangements should be provided at the entrance.
