Mangaluru: Kankanady to get high tech market worth Rs 41 crore

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Work on the new high tech market being built at a cost of Rs 41 crore at Kankanady in the city is progressing well. Foundation work has been completed and pillars are under construction. It is expected that the market building will be completed in two years time.

The 25-year-old Kankanady market building was demolished and the new market building is being built there. All the vendors in the old building have been shifted to a temporary market.

The old market suffered from a lack of facilities. The building was filthy and dilapidated. Cracked walls and seeping of rainwater was common. Drinking water and toilet also were grave issues there. The old building was therefore brought down in March 2020.

The then district in-charge minister, U T Khader, had laid the foundation stone for the new market building on February 28, 2019. The market will be like a mall with over a hundred stalls, spacious parking, a separate system for individual vendors, granite, and cleanliness will be given added importance.

What about cleanliness in the market, people are comparing the Kankanady market to markets of Japan, UAE and etc. People should stop spitting and littering the place. Not only vendors even the customers should keep the place clean. There should be a fine/ penalty it anyone keeping the place dirty/unhygienic.

Take your Designers/Architects or builders responsible and simply learn and study in Detail
    or like Chinese do
    simply Copy
    take videos/Pictures and Duplicate same.
as our Architect s/Engineers have not Come to any standards yet..
    Now no time
so. Do visit Dubai/Sharjah Markets and see the MAGIC the Arab nations have done.
    shame on us.
No need of very lavish : extravagance ..
    but neat and clean:
    Construction: Finishing..
The Chiller: cooler old storages temperatures.
    Loading/..unloading ..parking .
    Anti slip ..Flooring..
Anti rooms so the flies should never enter.
    Fly traps..rodent control.
    Air curtains.
    Chiller rooms.ante rooms..
Clean and neat parking with ease .. simple straightforward not complicated turns..
    just COPY Sharjah..uae market.

    Receiving: storage: dispensing.
IN and out entry/exits very clear.
The display at higher Level so the customer can view the Products he buys.

Fish cleaning like 5 star hospital Operation theater clean with water and ice..
    in sharjah
The fishermen are wearing Uniform better and cleaner than our surgeons sin hospitals.

    So, learn and copy NOW.
Since you laid the foundation just now.

    All Flower shops/Vegetables
    fish
    meat.
    dry
    Live
    all in respective places .
    well defined
    with all amenities/Facilities provided
    scientifically..
Let there be little Fish/Effluents crushing unit for drying up as ORGANIC Manure..
    hand to hand.

    There should Agency to Clean
there should be Agency for daily Inspection..health inspectors to be sitting there in one place.
Let it be the best and cleanest ever
    Bench mark KANKANADY MARKET.
No more smell of fish odor: smell of Animal blood smell.
    stench/rot etc.
    Everything should be handled professionally..
