International flights to remain suspended till Nov 30

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS): The Centre on Wednesday extended the suspension of scheduled commercial international flight operations to and from India till November 30.

"This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation," an official statement said on Wednesday.

"However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on select routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis," it added.

At present, India has entered into 'Air Bubble' agreements with several countries. It allows nationals of both the countries to travel in either direction.

Passenger air services were suspended on March 25 due to the nationwide lockdown to check the spread of Covid-19.

Domestic flight services have since resumed from May 25.

I understand govt here wants to ensure containment of infections due to covid19.
However if you see other countries across Gulf/Rest of the world international flights have started.

One of senior management from an international airlines told me, unless they get permission for international flights where passengers travelling from india are allowed to fly through third country to their destination things wont improve much.

Just taking passengers point to point will not help airlines either, international flights should commence as that will help growth/international trade and people who require to travel for business/personal visits etc, Also quarantine procedures needs to be trimmed, brought down to one week . Because of quarantine in all countries, travel has stuck in limbo,
