Mangaluru, Oct 18: In yet another case of alleged illegal transportation of beef, Bajrang Dal activists on Sunday October 18 waylaid a vehicle near Pumpwell here and seized beef.

The mini lorry, meant for transporting fish, was carrying two tonnes of beef illegally, alleged the activists.

The vehicle was stopped near Pumpwell in the city and handed over to Kankanady police by the activists.

The activists chased the said vehicle from Kannur on the outskirts of the city and managed to stop it near Pumpwell circle.

At least they r chasing and handing over to police the illegal traders of beef. Why can't you do the work you want BD to do. Nobody stops you from doing the work you say. Wt is ur problem if BD does this stopping of illegal trade?

These BD guys simply want their cut for hafta....that's the only reason. Bcoz job situation is very bad the govt shadow agencies like BD ABVP etc are the only once hiring. Otherwise these young men would be searching for an ACTUAL JOB in organised/unorganised sector. Even in UP beef is really avaliable the tramport agencies and hotel owners simply has to pay hafta then all is well. This is a well know fact even TV documentaries have been made of this issue. I hope these young people find a productive job soon and settle down....

Its the guess work of our readers that BD gets hafta from these fish trucks or milk trucks or any other trucks. Let the truck drivers say openly or to the police that BD is taking hafta. Why these drivers allow two tonnes of meat go into waste? They would have given hafta and could have saved their two tonnes of meat and close the matter as usual, instead of falling into trouble.. falling in the hands of police...in the eyes of media and on the tongues of people.... No one wants to incur loss...If it was routine, then they could have easily passed through by giving bribe...

Absoloutely riddicullous. The question of the hour is -Where are our great Congress leaders who are supposed to STOP this as per their fiery speeches????? Or are they more worried about UP??? I see them bashing and lashing Yogi. At least if they had done something against BD, Mloreans and DKians would have taken them seriously. Now it looks looks statements against Yogi was just a publicity stunt. They knew that Yogi is 3000 kms away and wont even know about these people. The irony is ,When the real local issues spring up, Cong so called 'tigers' are just spectators. No dhum in the xum.

Wake up bro and smell the Coffee. Its nothing new. Sri Ramanatha Rai the veteran leader was to arrest Kalladka Bhat in 2 weeks as per his 2013 election speech, I was the witness to this in BC Road . Bhat openly challenged Sri R Rai to arrest him in a speech in Puttur .This was after elections when Sri R Rai was elected. Its 7 years as I write this. To this day nothing has happened. Sri R Rai only managed to stop the midday meal for poor students that did not go well with congress as well. Mr, Poojari too was supposed to provide Kabir an alleged cattle theif who was shot dead by Police forces , with the CBI enquiry. To this day Kabirs parents are waiting. Moreover there is no unity amongst minorities so all such activities go in full swing. Its only one faction protesting when the other turn mute spectators and turn on to internet bashing . The BD, and its affiliates know this.

They were transporting beef from Kannur via Karnataka to Goa.
Beef is not illegal in Kerala and Goa both then what is the issue?
    Point to be noted!

Agreed that the lorry was carrying beef illegally.
Even BD activists action on the matter too is illegal and unauthorized.
Right action should be taken on such activities which are not legally binding and against the law of the land. We do not need a jungle rule to prevail in a democratic way of government.

What is the problem if beef from Kannur comes into Mangalore ? It might be going further to Goa.

BD guys should be happy that Karnataka cattle are spared, Kerala meat is imported by Goa.

    What is the problem ?

The Kannur mentioned in the article seems to be the place on the Mangalore Bangalore Highway and not Kannur (Kerala).

What is police going to do with the beef ??? Give it as reward to BDs for tip-off :))))

If BD is doing police job and believing that is social work why cant help poor people those really in need of help specially during Covid and when they are always on road for check why cant clean the road from dirt garbage including cow dunk, helping elderly persons to cross the road. this kind of work well appreciated .

True. How they get information earlier than Police ? Do police reward them or Police only train them to alert ?

What happened to earlier cases ? Culprits might have thought that they will be busy in Dasara Celebrations... Calculations went wrong.
