Mangaluru: Auto driver finds purse with Rs 28,000 cash, hands over to owner

Mangaluru, Oct 1: In a kind gesture an auto driver by the name Sudhir handed over a lost purse he found to its owner Thousif with the help of traffic police here at Kankanady on Thursday, October 1.

It is said that Thousif who hails from BC road lost his purse near Mak Mall in Kankanady at 5 pm. There was Rs 28,000 in cash which was meant for his wife's treatment who had delivered a baby in the morning. Thousif had withdrawn the money from ATM but soon lost his purse, which also consisted of other documents along with the cash.

Thousif looked for his purse but was unable to find it. One of the pedestrians found the purse and decided to walk away with it, noticing this, auto driver Sudhir approached the man and pretended that the purse belonged to him. Sudhir then took the purse from the man and handed it over to Mangaluru east traffic police ASI Dombayya and constable Puttarama who were on duty at Kankanady.

Around 20 minutes later, Thousif collected the purse from Sudhir through traffic cops.

    Many auto drivers are honest and helpful in Mangaluru.... They are rash I agree. They are not go to interior places or slope areas instead they keep waiting in the queue for a long time waiting for a good opportunity.. . They will ask double the amount even if they agree to take. But otherwis, in honesty or in helping in times of urgency they are ever ready and they have upper hand. How satisfied he may be after handing over the person who has lost it...!!! Immense joy.. Lucky that new born baby.. God bless this gentleman as well as rest of them too.

    Very rare things are happening in DK.....Yesterday like this another good news ,person lost 2 soverin gold returned to it to its owner with help of Mangalore mks Kamath...
    When we read such news from our dist feel proud for the gesture ....
