Brahmavar: Man arrested for consuming ganja

Brahmavar, Sep 26: A man was arrested on the accusation of consuming ganja near Kumragodu school in Kumragodu village on September 23.

The arrested accused is identified as Vinayaka Prabhu. Acting on definite information, ASI of Brahmavar police station, under the instructions of SI and CI of Brahmavar circle, under the direction of DSP of Udupi subdivision, on September 23 at around 9.55 am went to Kumragodu school area, along with the station personnel of Brahmavar police station.

Police personnel saw the accused Vinayaka Prabhu standing near the school. On inspection, they smelt the smell of ganja emanating from the mouth of the accused. On inquiry, the accused confirmed consuming ganja. He was taken to the forensic medicine section of KMC. The doctors at KMC confirmed that the accused has smoked ganja.

A case in this regard is registered under crime no 161/2020 at Brahmavar police station against column 27 (b) NDPS Act.
