Air India Express flights to Dubai suspended for 15 days after two fliers test corona-positive

Dubai, Sep 18: As part of the air travel agreement between India and the UAE, stranded passengers were allowed travel to and fro. However, in one of the recent Air India Express flights traveling to Dubai, two of the passengers were found to have been corona-positive. Following this, the authorities suspended the flights from India to UAE from September 18 to October 3 for 15 days.

Consequently, the flights to Dubai were rescheduled to Sharjah.

Air India Express under the Vande Bharat Mission has been undertaking one of the largest repatriation operations. The coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of international flights which left people stranded in foreign countries. As a means of relief to Indians, the Centre had begun flight operations to various countries aiming to bring back stranded Indians.

As a part of the air bubble agreement between UAE and India, passengers were required to follow strict rules and regulations. One of the prominent ones being that the passengers had to test negative for the coronavirus.
