New Delhi, Sep 3: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday released the ‘Raksha’ document on defence diplomacy, outlining an actionable vision for the next decade aimed at ensuring India remains an anchor of peace, stability and a rule-based order in an evolving global landscape.
The document focuses on strategic partnerships, capacity building, indigenous defence manufacturing and exports, and maritime security, an official statement said.
The ‘Raksha’ document sets out India’s strategic roadmap and vision for global defence partnerships over the next 10 years, the statement said.
As defence diplomacy is a core pillar of India’s foreign policy, the document provides a clear and actionable vision for the coming decade, with the objective of positioning India as an anchor of peace, stability and a rule-based international order.
The document marks a shift in India’s strategic engagement by aligning national security objectives with proactive global cooperation, while fostering long-term stability and mutual growth.
One of the key pillars is strategic partnerships, aimed at deepening bilateral and multilateral security cooperation.
The document also emphasises capacity building through enhanced joint military exercises, training programmes and sharing of best practices with friendly nations.
It promotes ‘Make in India’ defence platforms with the aim of establishing India as a reliable global defence manufacturing hub and exporter, the statement added.
The ‘Raksha’ document also advocates strengthening India’s role as a Net Security Provider and First Responder in the Indian Ocean Region.
Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs Rudrendra Tandon, Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs and National Security Council Secretariat were present on the occasion, the statement said.
