Teachers are recruited in proportion to the students in KPS schools. Well-equipped classrooms, laboratory, separate computer lab, standard library, clean drinking water, playground and separate washrooms for boys and girls are provided in KPS.

DDPI Sheshanayana Karinja said, "The number of admissions has increased in government English medium schools this year. This is the first step towards protecting government schools from extinction. Presently, there is an opportunity to take 30 students in KPS. However, we are taking 40 students now due to pressure from parents."

There are 599 higher primary schools in the district. Out of these eight were selected as KPS. The proposal is sent to convert eight more into KPS as per the information provided by the DDPI.

Because of Covid-19 people don't have money to pay the school fees. Most of the people lost their jobs and small business are not running well. On the top of that private schools are forcing people to pay the school fees.
Obviously, poor and middle class people are enrolling their kids to government schools as they have no option left.

It is quite natural to prefer well equipped public schools with English medium. We do not send our children to Municipal Higher secondary school when they can get seats in St Xavier (counterpart of St. Aloysius). Politicians urge people to study Kannada, while their children go to famous English medium schools.
