Mangaluru: Car turns turtle on Pumpwell flyover, driver escapes unhurt

Mangaluru, Aug 8: One person escaped unscathed when a car turned turtle on Pumpwell flyover on Saturday August 8.

The car was going towards Kerala when its driver lost control over it. The driver miraculously escaped unhurt.

It is said that slippery road due to heavy downpour led to the mishap.

Locals in the area rescued the driver after the car landed upside down on the flyover.

    For your information sir, it is not a crime to get into an accident unless some civilian is injured. Thus your request of being charged won't be of any use sir. The vehicle owner can do whatever pleases him. Unless someone is hurt

    These unscrupulous drivers, believe they are flying the Rafale supersonic plane !!! This tragedy is nothing but gross negligence !!! The driver license should be suspended for 2 year, with a minimum 6 months Rigorous Imprisonment n a fine of Rs : One lakh !!!!

    Thank god the person escaped unhurt. While we say enough about the roads and the conditions, it is scary how people drive. High speed , lack of discipline, hurry as if corona is chasing them, overtaking from left , it’s scary to be on roads ... can only wish and pray that we are all more careful and humble when on the road...

    Need to take care on this bridge while driving the road is slippery .
    I.am sure he was speeding .
    Let's not blame uncessarlly anyone .
    Driving skills but skills.
    The drive was lucky he didnt injured .
    But everyday is not Saturday

    NO. Here ABS works 100% on all 4 wheels if you apply sudden brakes or panic braking thus prevents wheels from skidding, not sure what car it is but all newer models are abs equipped. so in any case when cars turn upside down its means because he veerd of at high speed and lost control. As per my experience I bet it's highly impossible to control and bring a vehicle to proper grip once it loses road traction. Never try to take a sudden cut in highway when you want to overtake another vehicle ahead of you in rainy season.
