Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh observes Vanamahotsava

Udupi, Aug 3: Catholic sabha, Udupi Pradesh, Kundapur zone and Gangolli unit held Vanamahotsava along with 51 units of the diocese on Sunday. Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh president, Alwyn Qadros set the programme in motion by planting a sapling at Kannadakudru St Joseph Vaz centre, Gangolli church premises.

He said that everybody should create awareness on environment protection. “Vehicles are increasing every day. Trees and plantations are getting destroyed. Use of plastic is increasing. They increase environmental pollution and temperature. Rain and cultivation decrease. Everybody should take care to maintain nature’s equilibrium. It is necessary for everybody to introspect."

Catholic Sabha Kundapur zone president Mabel D’Souza, former central committee president L Roy Kiran Crasta, Gangolli unit president Roshan Lobo, secretary Celine Lobo, zonal former president Herick Gonsalves, treasurer Michael Pinto, Kannadakudru ward Gurkar Agnes Crasta and representative Vincent Almeida were present.

Roshan Lobo welcomed the gathering. Celine Lobo rendered a vote of thanks. Jenni Buthello compered the programme.

Catholic Sabha suggested that everybody plant saplings in the company of family at their respective residences and take care of them instead of having celebrations in the church.
