Daijiworld Media Network - Kaup (HB/SP)

Kaup, Jul 25: In a barbaric act, a person who murdered his own friend in a state of drunkenness and later tried to destroy evidence by burning the body. The incident happened at Punchalakadu in Kaup taluk on Friday July 24 morning, but the incident came out into the open with inordinate delay.

The victim of this incident was Hemanth Poojary (45), a resident of Yermal village. Albert D'Souza (50) from Punchalakadu has been accused of committing this murder. The police have arrested D'Souza.

It is gathered that both Hemanth and Albert had alcohol at a bar on Friday morning. Thereafter, Albert kicked up a quarrel with Hemanth on a silly pretext and hit his friend with a piece of wood. Hemanth died on the spot.

After committing the murder, Albert tried to incinerate the body at his courtyard. The locals grew suspicious of the foul smell which enveloped the area on that occasion and alerted the police. The half burnt body of Hemanth was recovered from the spot.

The police who collected information from the locals and succeeded in cracking the case, it is learnt. Kaup police circle inspector Mahesh Prasad, and Shirva police sub-inspector visited the spot, registered murder case and began investigation. This case stands registered at Shirva police station.

They both were heavy drunkards and friends....were stealing everywhere.. and at the end of the day were fighting for their share between them. So thinking about them n discussing here is a utter waste of time.

    Madan saab
99 % of the commenters did not mention or shown sympathy for the victim in this platform. It is not only one community but all of us who did not show sympathy including me.

Only Cynthia, Kirem has expressed condolences & sympathy. God bless her.

Has anyone blocked roads and destroyed public property for arresting Albert ?
Has anyone shown displeasure for arresting Albert in this platform ?
Has any religion or community political leader condemns the arrest of Albert ? or justified his act ?

Yes Victim family needs sympathy and support from all of us but there are no details or any info. are found about victims family

I will help Hemanth Poojary kids for their education at some stage (as much I can, if someone gives the details)

There are many blind bhaktons who will willingly prefer to put their physically handicapped or mentally challenged family persons in Christian run institutions run by priests/ nuns, or Christian lay people. Or also, put their children in Christian schools...But yet in a drunken case like above, where Christian murderer has been caught, they will still unnecessary rake up communal disharmony and discord between the 2 communities, just to create trouble. Shameful and cunning.

I strongly believe that we as a community failed in moulding Albert into a good human being.

God will be happy when one soul turns and repent and not when we celebrate feast in a grand manner.

Visit houses, speak to them continuously, show love and help them to change their heart and then bad habits. God will bless both parties

I still believe that Catechism classes  are needed for adults and parents & not for children.

    Sanjya, Hebri and Rajesh, Udupi,

I think you both are not reading between the lines.
Pinto's response was for Rajesh D, Mangalore who said "I strongly believe that we as a community failed in moulding Albert into a good human being".
As a society we all might be responsible if someone is committing suicide or murdering someone with no motive.
The point Pinto is making that we do not know what type of human being Albert is. The power of alcohol is so much that it does not even see whether you're his father or son, wife or daughter. It seems he committed the crime under the influence of alcohol.
No one says he is innocent, did anyone said so Sanjay??
Whether you're committing a crime under the influence of any substance or under the influence/guidance of any person, you are responsible for your action.
Crime is a crime and it should be punished, no one is calling him innocent here.

Guru, I pity on your knwledge and you have a name "Guru".
Parliament is part of the legislature as well as it's members, so called MP. It is not "That is up to them, how to use their time", they are elected for a reason.

Liquor is evil and people become devils.....After alcohol goes high, drunkards forget who is friend and who is enemy......! Friendship is name sake... Inside the brain, alberte was hatching plan to kill him.....Never leave murderers/rapists out on bail...
