Udupi: ‘Register cases against home quarantine violators’ - DC G Jagadeesha

Udupi, Jul 4: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has directed tahsildars in the district and flying squad officers to book cases against home quarantine violators. He was speaking after presiding over a meeting held in district panchayat auditorium on Saturday.

“As many as 1,236 people among 1,547 home quarantine violators in the district are warned and cases are booked only against 8 people. There are many who have violated the guidelines more than once. Register cases against such violators and submit a report. Cases against concerned officials will be registered if they fail to book cases against violators,” he warned.

“Several felicitation programmes and celebrations are being held in the district without maintaining social distance. The distance is not being maintained in buses also. Tahsildars should register cases against them and submit a report,” he said.

“The guidelines of the governments at the center and the state should be strictly implemented,” he said.

Additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu, ASP Kumar Chandra, Kundapur sub divisional officer Raju, district panchayat assistant secretary Kiran Padnekar, all the tahsildars and flying squad officials were present.
