Beltangady: Petrol bunk in Ujire sealed down after employee contracts coronavirus

Beltangady, Jun 28: A petrol bunk in Ujire here was sealed down on Saturday June 27 after a woman employee tested positive for coronavirus.

The 38-year-old woman is a resident of Agari in Mundaje.

In accordance with the precautionary measures as advised by the health department, throat swabs of more than 50 people, who were in constant contact with the public and working in Ujire market and surrounding areas, were sent for Covid-19 testing.

The infected woman was on duty when the test report of coronavirus arrived on Saturday. Chaos prevailed in the area for sometime. The woman's husband had been to Mandya before lockdown and had returned recently to Mundaje.

Colleagues of the woman, who were working in the same shift as her, family members of the infected woman and the employees of a shop at Somanthadka where the woman had visited have been placed under home quarantine.

The petrol bunk and the residence of the infected woman have been sealed down. She has been admitted to the district Covid hospital.
