Mangaluru: New DC office set for next year's inaugural

Mangaluru, Jun 13: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, revealed that a sum of Rs 41 crore has been released for the first phase of the project to build new deputy commissioner's office complex in the city. He said that discussions will be held with revenue department officials and arrangements to release the remaining grant relating to the work will be made.

He was speaking after inspecting the under-construction office the deputy commissioner on Friday June 12. He asked the officials to follow up the works and ensure that the work is finished on a fast pace and wanted the building to be completed by next year. "The building will house most of the district level offices. Therefore, I will meet the revenue minister at Bengaluru and urge him to release grants so that speedy completion of the building would be possible," he stated.

Deputy commissioner of the district Sindhu B Rupesh, and officials of different departments accompanied the minister during this visit.

    The old DC office will be a museum once all files and electronic voting machines are shifted to the new DC office.
