Karkala: BJP leaders organise birthday party at quarantine center

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Jun 4: A COVID-19 quarantine centre is functioning at Prakriti Sale at Murathngadi Karkala. The president of BJP Yuva Morcha and workers came together and celebrated the birthday of a party activist who was serving as a volunteer there. The celebration in the quarantine centre without observing social distancing has become controversial and provided fodder for social media discussions.

The opposition parties have been accusing the government of transforming the quarantine centres into publicity centres of the ruling party. The birthday celebration in the presence of the BJP Yuva Morcha workers and local panchayat president has in fact given rise to a sense of panic about the likely spread of coronavirus infection.

Video clips of the birthday celebrations organized without maintaining social distancing and without any safety precautions have become viral in social media. The incident took place on May 21 and the videos have now gone viral. The video show people standing very close to one another when cutting the cake and then feeding cake pieces to one another. These scenes have made people jittery and many have been praying that this incident does not give rise to worsening of the COVID situation in the area.

This incident has happened at a time when many who have gone home after completing their mandatory quarantine period are found to have been infected with the deadly virus. This incident has given rise to worry among the conscious citizens of the district. The district which was proudly placed in the green zone in the early days, had risen to top spot in the state as far as coronavirus infection is concerned, because of large scale infection found among people who have returned from Maharashtra. The district administration is grappling to come to terms with this sudden spurt in number of COVID cases when this incident has taken place.

People are curiously waiting to see what steps the district administration and local administration will take against those who violated rules in this incident.

There are no rules for ruling political party and their supporters. Rules are for poors and people from opposit parties only. If bjp spreads corona , it is not a problem. But poor migrants will be responsible and questioned if they are responsible. BJP supporters had party of cake + wine, but no enquiry is done. Where are the officials. Where is the law enforcing agency. Jai jo bjpeeeee ki

All are hoping to be rich by means of politics one day? Too tough job...lots of competition and frustrations. If you work hard professionally.....success and peace of mind guaranteed. When you are professional and self sustained...need not beg for protest money and more chances to succeed in politics too! In some cases wealth can be multiplied with politics and its influence.

In India, rules differ from person to person and apolitical party to party. No surprise. When leaders Blessings are there, let them enjoy.
