Bicholim: BMC to install CCTV for identifying people who litter

Daijiworld Media Network - Bicholim (SHP)

Bicholim, May 29: To curb the menace of garbage dumping by miscreants, Bicholim Municipal Council authorities have planned to install CCTV cameras. The decision is taken in order to identify the culprits involved in dumping garbage on the roadside, regardless of the facility of door-to-door garbage provided by the municipality.

BMC chairperson Rajaram Gaonkar and chief officer Vivek Naik announced on Wednesday.

"When BMC is regularly carrying out the door-to-door collection I feel that people should act responsibly and not throw garbage along the road," Gaonkar said.
