Kundapur, May 21: A heated argument and quarrel between two groups progressed to using knives and machetes. Of the two groups, one began chasing the other trying to escape in a car. However, the driver of the car chasing the other, lost control of the vehicle. The car then reportedly jumped off the road and landed in a drainage pit. The incident is said to have taken place near Hattiangady here on Thursday, May 21.

As per sources, there was friction between two groups over an unknown reason. A complaint in this connection was registered at Gangolli police station. The two groups had arrived in two separate cars chasing one another on the highway on Thursday morning. A red Baleno car fell into the drainage pit at Guddeangadi in front of Hattiangady gram panchayat. Five people in the car fled leaving behind a machete, creating anxiety among the onlookers.

Though Kundapur traffic police station ASI Sudha Prabhu tried to pursue the miscreants with the help of locals, the accused managed to flee. Kundapur rural and traffic police station staff, who visited the spot later, questioned those in the other car. Meanwhile, another police team nabbed two other men who were in the car that had toppled.

While the previous incident comes under Gangolli police station limits, the accident comes under Kundapur rural station limits. A case in this regard has been registered and the police are conducting investigation.

Since the lockdown norms relaxed with bars supplying liquor in abundance, car chase and all other chase is made easier.
Since both the groups had cars, they will have to negotiate to create a new story with a higher bid.
We know who benefits at the end!
