City buses to resume operations in Udupi from June 1

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, May 21: City buses will begin to serve the people of this city from June 1 onwards. This decision was taken at the meeting of city bus owners association held on Wednesday May 20, said president of the association K Suresh Nayak.

The owners are not inclined to run all the buses at a time.

They plan to test the mood of the passengers by introducing a few buses on some routes, and gradually increase the number of buses depending on passenger response.

After the lockdown on March 25, several owners had surrendered their permits to regional transport office. Because of different reasons, about ten percent of buses could not be surrendered. As the government has now extended road tax concession, the owners are expected to benefit.

Ninety buses serve the city bus routes in Udupi now.

Meanwhile, 25 new cases of Corona in Udupi, without city bus introduction...Guarantee to increase infections. if bus service is started...the DC is undoing all the earlier superb controls he had put in place to stop Corona.

People from Mumbai, Muscat, Dubai, Abudhabi, Telangana are putting pressure using Daijiworld TV to get into Udupi.

Karnataka has banned Maharastra, Tamilnadu & Gujrat people from entering Karnataka. But, few exceptions given.

Now, they are testing positive in Quarantine center.

But, no one in open has tested positive. So, Most of bus travel is safe.

Good news but please follow preventive protocols ....driver and conductors..You are the bread winner of your family..!
Passengers ...! Social distsnce, hand sanitizing after cash handling, after touching rods and other surface. Don't become public nuisance by coughing, sneezing etc.
