What about health of hotels staff like cooks, garderners, delivery man, room boy etc. Are the health administration sure that these hotel employees are free from corona virus and they will not get infected outside during the course of quarantine for first batch.
Are Hotel employees above normal people that they will not get infected like so many people got infected.
Instead of home quarantine healthy NRI will be subjected to corona infection just like cruise ship passenger's.

NRI's are not Animals. Please treat them with love & respect. So far they earned you lot of foreign currency. Now when problems started treat them nicely.

Very good move and efforts by MEA and Govt.of India. It will be helpful for people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts if the name of Hotel and tariff is known in order to come prepared for it.

Don't worry Sir. Only Indian Nationality coming to their mother land. These people sacrificed their life staying without their family's just to take care of their family's. There are more than 1 crore NRI Indians are feeding their family's in India. Our Coastel Tulunadu prospered only because of NRIs.

There are a number of muti-storied paying guest accomodations in Kodialghuttu east which are empty for a long time,if they are utilized , monitoring would be easy and all guests can be kept together for the quarantine period., creating new containment zones can be avoided (except one).

Are the owners ready to lease those accommodations to the District Administration at the same / lower price as given by these associations?

Kamathmaam, IMHO, as per pandemic act administration has right to occupy, by giving notice, any vacant buildings, lodges, hotels, etc, but no idea of how rates are fixed & whether they are going to bear charges of refurbishing the same after public use???

But Govt should collect cost of all these from them. We should not use tax payers money. Once situation improves in Gulf, they again go there.

You should learn more n understand, what is GST? What is exice tax? What is Tax on fuel? What is property registration Tax? Etc. Than you see what income tax collected by Govt. Income Tax is very Low when see all above taxes. Gulf returnees paying their Oneway ticket cost also higher than normal. Also they pay quarantine. So Govt making again money fm them.

NRI's are only exempted from income tax. Profit from any investment in India by NRI is taxable.....
GST is applicable to all including NRI's who spends money in India.......
Interestingly agriculture income is not taxable in India...!!!

    Nancy,

You are right, NRIs don't pay any Income -Tax, on the money they earned outside India in India...But a lowly paid Indian say Postman will pay Income tax on Income he earned in India.....But they pay indirect taxes....like GST for Liqor, Petroleum Products, Cigarettes, Food, Shoes, Clothes, Bus tickets, Domestic air-tickets , match boxes, Cinama tickets and what not etc...

Tax is a tax....if direct or indirect....Problem in India working class are forced to pay taxes, agriculturists are tax exempt, Businessmen and Industrialists CHEAT in paying taxes....this need to be changed if India has to prosper...

    ...Tak...Takk...

The The money they are sending to India is utilised in India only. Then they are also paying taxes indirectly. They are excluded from direct tax because they are adding Dollars to Indian Economy. Moreover they are also Indians and they are coming back at their own cost though most of them are Jobless.

    Raju Bhai,

I being a tax payer (in few lakhs per annum) have no problem using this money to either repatriate migrants or to get back our brothers and sisters from other states and other countries.

Re Gulf or NRI's please note that they are main reason for billions of dollars flowing into India for decades and this is right time for us to show our gratitude to them.

I hope you pay your taxes promptly
