First evacuation flight from Dubai to reach Mangaluru on May 14 night

Dubai, May 8: The first flight handling the evacuation operation from Dubai to Mangaluru which was supposed to reach Mangaluru on May 12 has been rescheduled to May 14 now.

According to Air India Mangaluru sources, the flight will take off from Dubai at 16.10 UAE time to reach Mangaluru at 9.10 pm IST on May 14.

It is not confirmed whether the flight will run to full capacity or will arrange seating to maintain social distancing.

As reported earlier, priority will be given to pregnant women and above and people with medical emergency. Passengers from Mangaluru will be quarantined in Mangaluru while passengers from other districts like Udupi and Kasargod will be sent to their respective places where they will be quarantined.

Sources also said that hotels, institutions among others are booked as quarantine facility for passengers coming from abroad to Mangaluru.

    If you can get Pass from District administration - that will be the best option.

    Me and my flatmates 6 people registered, out of this 3 lost their job and one person medical emergency for the kidney stone, still no response by email or by call whom to contact and when?
    Is only 2000 people from Mangalore registered? what about others? Government make only drama?
    why information's are not given till now? where are people including me attended or 8pm PM ralley?

    Since these people have not paid any tax in India, full cost of quarantine and transportation should be recovered from these people. Govt should not spend tax payers money on this.

    Quarantine Room Quality
    --------------
    - Compulsory Minimum 14 days Quarantine in Government facility, No Home Quarantine. You may again get 14 days home quarantine based on situation & doctors advice, which may be tracked Hourly basis.
    - You have to send your selfie & GPS location every hour to police using Quarantine Watch app during Home Quarantine. If you do not send your location & Selfie - you may be taken to Govt Quarantine again.
    - You have choice. If you want free - you will be put in some college or school. If you can pay, Lodges in hotels available, which are approved by Govt.
    - Book the Paid Quarantine facility, before getting into the plane with the help of Air India Express

    Place of Quarantine
    -----------------------
    - If you land in Devanahalli, you will be Quarantined in Devanahalli. You will not be allowed even to go Bangalore. If you land in Mumbai, you will be Quarantined in Mumbai. Inter district travel is banned, as of now. So, you may get stuck in these locations, even after Quarantine period.
    - No Public transport or travel allowed, after you land in airport. You will be transferred to Quarantine center, by bus.

    Talk to the authorities & Air India Express, now itself. Get authorisation letter in writing or email.

    Otherwise, Book a Govt. authorised Hotel lodge for 2 weeks, from UAE itself.

    After coming here, you can't do anything. But, you have to spend 14 days in some room in a college, Like NITK.

    Mr sawood, children below age 10 or 14, pregnant women and senior citizens are given the option of home quarantine. People with respiratory issues or underlying medical conditions will be quarantined in hospitals no choice. All other normal people will be quarantined in quarantine facilities. A man who has no health issues cannot ask for home quarantine

    We must gratefully thank our beloved Hero IVAN D'SOUZA for organizing this great epic Mission Airlift to the aggrieved hapless Mangaloreans at the hour of need when the BJP government, local MPs & MLAs were fast asleep!!

    He did a splendid job of convincing the Arab Sheikhs, the bureaucrats in the Embassies and Air India authorities.

    He is the Star of DK and prospective Prime Minister of this Commonwealth!
