Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (AM)

Mangaluru, Apr 30: In a tragic news, Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, April 30, recorded its third death due to novel coronavirus.

The victim is a 69-year-old woman.

The patient, P-409, was from Bantwal Kasaba. She was suffering from fever, cold and respiratory issues. She was shifted from Bantwal taluk hospital to Wenlock hospital and admitted into ICU on April 18.

The patient was diagnosed to be suffering from severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and was treated for viral pneumonia. She was tested coronavirus-positive on April 20.

The patient was then treated in ICU and kept on ventilator. She passed away without responding to treatment at 5.40 pm on Thursday.

It is gathered that the woman was the neighbour of the coronavirus-positive woman who had died on April 19.

The virus has taken away three lives in Dakshina Kannada so far which includes the woman who died on April 19, her mother-in-law who died on April 23 and the woman who died today.
