Coronavirus: Dakshina Kannada district placed in red zone again

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Apr 30: Dakshina Kannada district has been moved yet again to Red zone from Orange zone in a district-wise COVID-19 map released by the department of Health and Family Welfare. The state health department has revised the Red, Orange and Green zones with new eligibility criteria. As many as 15 districts have been declared as red zones.

Dakshina Kannada district, which was in orange zone earlier, is shifted back again to red zone due to the increasing number of positive cases of the pandemic.

These zones are created based on the number of infections. Districts which have reported infection in the past 14 days are classified as red zones. Districts which did not report any positive cases of infection in the past 14 days but had infections in the past 15 to 28 days are classified as orange zones. Only those districts which did not report a single positive case in the past 28 days are placed under green zone.

In the list that is released on Wednesday, 15 districts are under red zone, three in orange and 12 in green.

Udupi district is under green zone. Only official confirmation is awaited.

Readers, Covid19 virus cannot be banished or even wished away......Vaccine to neutralize this pandemic will take month's to arrive, till then we have to collectively isolate ourselves, take preventive measures n avoid being infected... The huge crowd which congregates for fish trading at Bunder is extremely dangerous. We in Mumbai have similar characters who, make a mockery of Lockdown, resulting in mounting causalities, making Mumbai a very unsafe city !!!!

    Dear all
The best way to avoid COVID 19 is GARGLE your throat for 10 to 15 seconds from MOUTHWASH everyday soon after brushing your teeth and as many time as you may like it.No cough, no cold or fever.

    Yes dear all!
And while you are it, make sure you swallow 2 and a half strepsils (the orange flavored one, ONLY) before AND after food, preferably along with the mouthwash... but the best method is to pour that leftover aged whisky all over your house and set it on fire, because as we all know, Covid19 can't take the heat BUT YOU CAN!

I dread the one day fish trading which took place at Bunder. How many infections may have spread with these 2000 odd people who didn't care for their safety or others. Folks just watch when these cases creep up in couple of days.

Everyday if they change the colours like that in a rainbow 🌈, it would take another year to break the lockdown; and by that time majority of population would be in utter starvation & suffering from other killer infectious diseases!!

Looks like Dk is in red bcoz of source to all cases is the hospital in padil, if Corona is spread in hospital how can lockdown be a solution. Lockdown is no solution for this virus bcoz there is no vaccine , lockdown shud be lifted immediately and don't dream of zero cases in India and then lockdown will be lifted, it's better to move herd immunity way, middle class and hard working honest ppl will die due to the liabilities, for other classes some relief package and freebies wud be announced and rich and influential are just enjoying so might want more lockdown bcoz they don't want their helper or servants to become I'll , still people r getting infected in hospitals better to close this hospital which is spreading the virus total management failure and burden on poor..

I really become upset while looking nurses to protect themselves daily consuming half an hour to dress with propper gear before attending any Covid19 patients. It's really tiresome and hectic job to them at the moment.
Moreover risk factor is more...leaving behind there family members for many days. While looking them of there efforts..lockdown to be extended for furthrr three week's period required. Otherwise burden will increase to them.

Any relaxation in the lock down will be catastrophic for the country.
More strict lock down rules need to be followed as migrant workers, students, people with urgency need to travel to their places of origin within the country, and also for the sake of repatriating Indians from abroad too.
    Jai Hind!!!
