Mangaluru, Mar 30: After three days total lockdown in Mangaluru, the curfew will be lifted for nine hours on March 31 between 6 am to 3 pm. Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath has issued guidelines to residents of the city to shop smart and quick.

In a detailed Facebook post, the MLA has asserted that the relaxation was given after several discussions and meetings. Depending on how people tackle relaxation on March 31, further relaxations will be announced, he said.

The MLA has issued nine guidelines such as:

1. Shopping has to be done by only one member of a family.
2. People should shop quickly and be mindful that people are waiting in queues.
3. Items in super markets should not be touched unnecessarily.
4. Carrying sanitizers and tissues is a must. Everyone has to wear a mask and cover their mouths and noses.
5. Everyone should carry a list of essentials they need and buy only those items.
6. Maintaining a distance of 2.5 metres from other shoppers and staff is a must.
7. The person who ventured for shopping, once home has to mandatorily have a shower and soak clothes worn in hot water.
8. People can also opt for home delivery of items and passes have already been issued to delivery persons.
9. One should not stop to chat with friends, relatives and acquaintances. The person should return home as soon as they finish shopping.

The MLA has requested people to strictly adhere to the guidelines and keep Mangaluru healthy and safe.
