Udupi, Mar 22: The call to observe 'Janata Curfew' Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received massive support from people in Udupi on Sunday March 22.
All private buses have stop plying. Very few people are on the roads. Police force is also in place in strategic areas to ensure that the curfew is total.
Buses from outstation places to Udupi arrived early morning on Sunday. Once they reached their homes, the movement of autorickshaws was also completely stopped.

People had stocked essentials on Saturday March 21 itself. Huge queues were noticed on Saturday at vegetable shops, wine shops and bar and restaurants.
The novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 315 on Saturday after more than 60 fresh cases were reported in various parts of the country, the union health ministry said.
In view of the rising number of cases, PM Modi has called for a Janata Curfew to be observed from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday.

Kundapur, Mar 22: Life came to a standstill in the taluk on Sunday, March 22 in the wake of 'Janata Curfew' call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contain the spread of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.
Buses, autos and taxis are not plying in the city. Other villages of the taluk are also observing total bandh. The national highway which passes by the town wears a deserted look as there is no movement of any vehicles.
Passengers of the taluk, who arrived from Bengaluru are finding it difficult to reach home as the autos and other mode of transport is totally stopped operations. All medical shops of the taluk are also closed. In addition, most of the petrol bunks have also downed the shutters.
