Mangalore: Catholic Assn of South Kanara’s Unique Annual Get Together on Nov 22

Media Release

Mangalore, Nov 16: The annual get together of the Catholic Association of South Kanara will be held at the St Aloysius High School here on Sunday November 22.

The programme will start with a mass at the St Aloysius Chapel at 5.00 pm followed by a dinner reception at 6.30 pm at the high school hall.

The special theme for this year’s reunion is the honouring of those community members who were widowed at the age 40 or earlier, and had to single-handedly bring up and care for their children as a mark of salutation to their fortitude, courage, dedication and the love with which they cared for their little ones, though alone.

Also being honoured this year are those who might have been widowed at the age 45 or below, and had children below the age of 12 at the time.

So far, we have about 85 ladies and 4 gents from the city, who qualify for the honour and another 24 from cities like Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. About 70 of them are expected to attend the function.

It may be recalled here that the theme for the Reunion 2008 last year was the felicitation of married couples who had been wed for 50 years or more.
