Trump lands in India, Modi greets him with a hug, shakes hands with Melania

Ahmedabad, Feb 24 (IANS): A red carpet welcome was given to US President Donand Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Monday amid sounds of conch shells after their Air Force One landed at Ahmedabad Airport. Trump is accompanied by his daughter Ivanka and a 12-member delegation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Donald Trump with a hug and shook hands with the First lady.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner came out of the Air Force One first. After some time, President Trump and the First Lady came out of the aircraft, waving at the waiting crowd below.

The Trumps got into the US President's black car, the 'Beast'

This is Trump's first visit to India since he assumed office.

Soon after his arrival at the Ahemdabad airport, President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sabarmati Ashram for a few minutes.

A roadshow from the Airport to Sabarmati Ashram was organised during which thousands of people enroute of the cavalcade greeted the US President who is visiting India for the first time.

Trump and First Lady paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the Sabarmati Ashram.

During the brief stay here, they tried their hands on the charkha.

Trump spun charkha briefly and wrote in the visitor's diary, "To my great friend Prime Minister Modi - Thank You for this wonderful visit."

However, there was no mention of Mahatma Gandhi by Trump in his remark in the visitors' diary at Sabarmati ashram.

From Sabarmati Ashram, Trump and the First Lady arrived at Motera Stadium, in Ahmedabad where apart from Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief minister Vijay Rupnai and Governor Acharya Devvrat are also present.

Smartness is that phenomenon where you add value to your investment by gaining more and spending less. I have not seen this kind of smartness before. Only Bha kths have that special ability to connect the missing links between fekuism and reality.

    Two things.
Even if I stay abroad, the misuse of Income tax money will always remain a misuse; even if a Non resident Indian highlights this or any other Indain resident highlights that.
Second thing is that who told you that an NRI can never pay income tax in any case whatsoever?
One advice for your kind consideration. Forget about who told it. Just evaluate whether it is valid or not valid.

This is just the matter of U(Trump)&I(Modi); whereas it is supposed to be (U):USA and (I):India.
Each of the leaders seem to be campaigning for their counterpart during their foreign trips.
For example: It was Howdy Modi campaign for Modi during his visit to USA; and Namaste Trump campaign for Trump during his visit now. There is no environment of enhancement of relationship between two countries.
Trump is boasting of his individual popularity by stating that 70 lakh to 1 crore Indians will be lined up to welcome him. This clearly reveals the intention of the visit. There will be no trade agreements.

For you, taking foreign trips may mean improvement in relationship between two countries. For me, it is never so. You are made to believe that we have reached the unprecedented level of cooperation between the two countries by the media with the support of Marketing and advertising team of BJp.
More and more Indians' jobs are lost or at stake because of Policies of Trump. So many incidents of killing by racist attacks on Indians. Hate crimes are at the highest levels against Indians in USA. This is the ground reality and not hawa hawai news of godi media

Some time one needs to be optimistic to be healthy humans!
By and large, if we Indians still trying their best to reach U. S. for studies and or job or business, then we can't say it's that bad.
Yes I know, job situation has worsened in U. S. for outsiders because Trump trying to provide jobs to locals first, if unavailable then to outsiders.
To be frank, all have their own interests first and it's natural.
I believe, if relations improve, business will also improve.

As you advised me, I too believe that we need to be optimistic.
As far as my desires are concerned, I want to be optimistic. But as far as the reality is concerned, logics overrule my optimism. And I prefer to live in the real world; rather than the imaginary.
In any case, the comment was made by me in the context of relationship and foreign policy between our Country and the USA. The context was not about optimism.

I believe somebody have to take a step forward. Every action has to have a reaction.
If both the countries have diplomatic missions, peoples movement and trade, it implies that our relations are good.
Nawazji, there is no perfect match or relationship in this universe. we all need to adjust somewhere.
It's all about percentage of adjustment like passing percentage. Finally we all have right to opinion and difference, I respect that.
