Yakshyodhas Dubai hold invitational underarm cricket tournament

Dubai, Feb 17: Yakshayodhas Dubai, which was founded with the intention of youth team of Yakshagana Abhyasa Taragathi Dubai participating in sports activities, held invitational underarm cricket tournament 'Dumek Y 20' at the stadium of Al Ittihad school on Friday, February 14.

Child artiste of Dubai Yakshagana Abhyasa Taragathi Aditya Dinesh Shetty brought the sports torch to the dais. Ravi Shettigar Karkala, Sudhakar Rao Pejawar and Novel D'Souza, who were present on the dais lit the sports lamp. The national anthems of both the UAE and India were sung at the beginning of the sports meet.











































12 teams of UAE took part in the competition. In the thrilling final match, Kudla Friends team defeated KDKGS and lifted the Dumek Y 20 trophy. In the semi-final matches, Kudla Friends defeated Billawas Dubai and Kodagu Gowdas (KDKGS) team defeated Mangaladevi.

The prizes for the winners were distributed by Jayananda Pakkala, Dinesh Shetty Kottinja and Shekhar D Shettigar Kinnigoli. Muneer of Kudla Friends was adjudged as 'Man of the Series', while Rakesh Kudva of KDKGS got the 'Best Batsman' award. Nazeem of Kudla Friends bagged the 'Best Bowler' award.

All the teams that participated in the event were given mementoes. Man of the Match reward was presented in every match by various eminent personalities.

Movie producer and entrepreneur Harish Sherigar, who sponsored the first prize amount, was present on the occasion. Various trophies were sponsored by Girish Narayan Katipalla, Dhananjay Shettigar and Rajesh Kuttar.

Along with the main sponsor Dumek, Ecard, Dhadkan and SP organizations also co-sponsored the event.
