Mangaluru: Abduction of minor girl student - Complaint filed

Mangaluru, Feb 17: A complaint of abduction of a minor girl student stands filed in Kavoor police station here. As per the complaint, a minor girl student was abducted from Jappinaguthu in Kujanathbail near Kavoor.

The girl in question, who is aged 16, had come home from school on the evening of February 14. As per the complaint, she discarded her uniform and changed into different clothing thereafter. It is said, moments later, a person identified a Parashuram (26), escorted her away.

People living in the neighbourhood had seen Parshuram taking the girl away with him. As the girl did not return home for long, people went searching for her at various places but failed to find her out. As she could not be traced, the girl's father complained to Kavoor police about the abduction on Sunday, February 16.

Both the families of the girl and the boy are of north Karnataka origin. Police sources said that these families had come to the city searching for employment here and work as coolies.
