Kadaba, Feb 9: SP of Dakshina Kannada district has suspended an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Kadaba police station on dereliction of duty.

This action is taken by the SP after the report that was submitted by the DySP in which the police officer has mentioned that the Kadaba police have failed in carrying out their duties in the case of acid attack on Swapna and her child at Kotari of Kodimbala in the taluk, by her brother-in-law Jayananda Naika.

The report was submitted to SP B M Laxmiprasad DySP Dinakar Shetty of Puttur sub-division. The SP, who considered this report as serious, suspended ASI Chandrashekhar, who was on duty on January 23, the day the acid attack took place on the victim and her child.
