DC Sindhu Rupesh to felicitate Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar awardee CFAL student Suneetha Prabhu

Mangaluru, Feb 7: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Sindhu Rupesh on February 9 will felicitate Suneetha Prabhu M, the Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar Awardee, 2020 at CFAL.

It may be recalled that Suneetha, a student of TLC PU College (a division of CFAL) was conferred upon The Bal Puraskar Award by President, Ramnath Kovind on January 22 and was one among the 14 students who bagged the Puraskar in the innovation category. Suneetha was presented the award in recognition of her innovation of a mosquito-repellent cotton fabric that she had worked on while studying in High School at SDM, Ujire. The research was among the 10 projects from India that featured at the International Science Fair in 2018.

Apart from felicitating Suneetha, the DC will also distribute prizes to the toppers of The Ramanujan Contest, Mangalore Talent Search Contest (MTSC), the district level examinations conducted by CFAL. The felicitation/prize distribution programme will be part of the Makers’ Fete event.

The CFAL/ELC Fete is a free event, open to the public and promises to be a super-charged, super-fun celebration of Science with dynamic demonstrations, engaging experiments, geeky games and electrifying entertainment. Various talks, competitions, apart from art and food stalls are the highlights of the event. It may be recalled that CFAL has hosted various events in the past like the Solar Eclipse viewing event, the star party etc; which have been an instant hit among Mangalureans and the Makers’ Fete seems to create a buzz among people now.
