Voluntary blood donation camp held at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur, Jan 23: The Youth Red Cross Society, 9KAR BN NCC, IQAC, National Services Scheme and Students’ Council of St Philomena College here and Indian Red Cross Society here, jointly on January 21 organized a voluntary blood donation camp in association with Blood Bank, KMC Hospital Mangaluru at St Philomena College in the city.

Dr Sowmya Shivakumar, assistant medical officer, Blood Bank, KMC Hospital Mangaluru participated as the chief guest. She spoke about the significance of blood donation.

Oscar Anand, president of the Indian Red Cross Society Puttur expressed his compliments to the blood donors.

Prof Leo Noronha, principal of the college delivered the presidential address.

The faculty and students of the college voluntarily donated 147 units of blood.

The convenor of Youth Red Cross Society, Venkateshwari K S welcomed the gathering.

The co-convenor, Nilesh Joy Dias proposed the vote of thanks.

The co-convenor Nancy Lavina Pinto compered the programme.
