Kundapur, Jan 21: In a tragic incident, a 70-year-old woman standing beside road here was hit by a lorry killing her on the spot on Tuesday, January 21.

The deceased has been identified as Venkamma Poojary The incident took place in front of Shirur gram panchayat, NH66, Byndoor police station limits.

A goods truck belonging to VRL Logistics was being driven on national highway. As the lorry hit elderly woman Venkamma, she lost balance and fell to the ground. The right side wheel of the lorry ran over the
woman killing her on the spot.

A case is registered in Byndoor police station.
