Bengaluru: CM promises to expand ministry before leaving for Switzerland

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 14: Karnataka chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, has said that there is no doubt about completion of the exercise of ministry expansion before he leaves on a visit to Switzerland. He however, added that ministerial berths will be given as per the decision taken by the national president of BJP. This condition has added suspense to the issue that has been in limbo for too long.

The CM told the media persons that the ministry expansion will have prior approval of senior leaders of the party. He assured the legislators who won the bypolls that they need not worry about the rumours making the rounds. "I will fulfill the promises I made. Amit Shah will be visiting the state on January 17 and 18. I will get his approval and then expand my ministry," he explained.

In the meanwhile, former minister H Vishwanath, referring the information that defeated legislators would be left out of the said exercise, said that the legislators who were earlier disqualified expect all the persons including those who were defeated to be made ministers. "We will wait and watch the developments if defeated MLAs are not made ministers. I cannot predict what happens next," he stated.

Vishwanath said that four persons from Kuruba community had resigned from their memberships of the state assembly for making Yediyurappa the chief minister. "It is our right to demand for spots in the ministry. All those who resigned en masse should be made ministers. We will wait and see what happens," he added.
