Bengaluru, Jan 10: State minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, has expressed indignation at a viral video in which a child in the school is being taught by a teacher to pronounce the Kannada word, 'Pakkelubu' but the child falters repeatedly in doing so. The video which is supposed to funny, the minister says, has been spreading wrong message.

"It is but natural for kids to pronounce words wrongly. Only after repeated learning, they get the ability to correctly say a word or phrase. If the video of the child faltering in its endeavour to learn is spread through social media, the child is bound to come to know about it in course of time. Its self-confidence gets dented, and most likely it will lag behind in learning. The teachers need to teach the children to properly pronounce a word. The person who has depicted this as a major blunder himself has committed a crime in posting the video on social websites," the minister observed.

He has asked the commissioner in the department of public instruction to immediately file complaint in the cybercrime police station to find out the school in which this incident happened, and who is the teacher who recorded the video and shared it in social websites. He wants the head of the school concerned to be legally proceeded against. He has warned that the teachers and heads of schools which are found responsible for spreading such clips in social websites will be criminally proceeded against besides seeking recourse to other legal options. He has asked the commissioner to issue a circular to that affect.
