Kundapur, Dec 24: The family members of Harish Bangera, who was arrested by Saudi Arabian police for allegedly sharing a blasphemous Facebook post on Mecca, are in a state of shock.

Harish’s family live in a rented house near Beejady. Living in extreme poverty, they try to make ends meet. The family was overjoyed when Harish was employed as a technician in Saudi Arabia. However, the same joy has turned into tragedy and they are running from pillar to post for help.

“My son is innocent. He has not hurt anybody. Please bring him back,” the mother pleads when media persons went to meet her. Meanwhile, Harish’s wife says that it is impossible that he shared a post insulting Saudi King and on building Ram Mandir in Mecca. “He recently deleted his Facebook account. It is a conspiracy and the real culprit needs to be arrested,” she claims.

According to sources, Harish was identified with pro-Hindu outfits when he lived in Kundapur. He had shared a post that he had received through Facebook, in connection to the recent protests in Mangaluru. As the post went viral, he received several threatening calls in retaliation from Mangaluru and elsewhere. Harish who got afraid, apologized as per his wife’s advice and reportedly deleted his Facebook account. However, it is claimed that another insulting and derogatory post from another Facebook account in the name of Harish Bangera, insulting Saudi King and claiming to build Ram Mandir in Mecca was found posted the next day.

As the post went viral, Harish was arrested in Saudi on Sunday. His family is devastated knowing he is in jail.

Harish’s wife has submitted a complaint to Udupi cyber police station.

Udupi SP’s office has sent a notice to Facebook, asking to provide complete details of both the Facebook accounts. The decision whether the accounts were genuine or not will be based on the report sent by Facebook. “As an Indian is in the custody of police in foreign country, it is necessary to see he is released by setting politics aside,” requested local Congress leader Ashok Poojary Beejady.

Kundapur taluk BJP president Shanker Ankadakatte in his reaction said that the union government should look into the Harish’s release. “We have brought the matter to the notice of MP. The MP has asked to send certain documents. We will also inform minister of foreign affairs about it. The involvement of local people is suspected in the arrest of Harish. Everything will be known after detailed investigations,” he said.

If Gulf countries are so bad then why so many non-Muslims are working, earning and enjoy their life better than anywhere.

As long as you obey the law of land you can live happily.

Many non Muslims of India have made their fortune in Gulf countries and have become richest persons in that country.

Please stop taking RSS mindset to these countries and create problems there for other peace loving Indians.

It is already said that he had a face book account full of hatred.
Even if he deleted it, the need of the hour is to educate him about tolerance and Saudi prisons are the best place for him and the likes of him. He will come out a better person after his sentance, if at all they spare his life.

If he had so much hatred towards Muslims why did he gone to Saudi? Instead He should ask job or financial assistance people who brain washed him . In Saudi you can't take yourself. Now only God can save him , this is the lesson for those who carry hatred .

We need to learn to respect other religion and their beliefs. Don't expect to learn it from Political Parties but Learn from home and your own family then only everyone can live peacefully.
Pray for his pardon & release. That is the only thing we can do as a good people, so that God will send His help for his release

Minorities do not have any rights or privileges in any Islamic state.... They are tormented by blackmailing, under Blasphemy laws......whereas innocent minorities, like Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, even marginalized Muslim sects are rounded up, on flimsy grounds and then convicted under Sharia courts, were death is prescribed for the innocent victims.. Our external ministry, must follow the case and ensure, Harish is released immediately, without any cases registering against him !!!!!!

Good recruiting agents in India and good companies in Saudi Arabia give orientation on Saudi laws and employees are told to keep away from politics, religion, women and alcohol. Immediately after Babri Masjid demolition, those Indians or others, who sent donation to BJP, VHP and RSS were scrutinized through money exchange bureau and Saudi govt instructed every company to terminate such employees. However, people who sent donations through their Indian bank cheques, Saudi govt had no way to find out.

If this person is innocent, eventually he will be saved, but if he has done wrong, unless Indian govt gets it's involvement, he will have tough days in that country.

Everyone advising to follow the law of the land, even in india blasphemy against any religion is punishable offence, but often blasphemy against Muslims and Christians goes scot free.

Now coming back to Harish Bangera for blasphemy comment he is more likely to be deported, but his real trouble will be for abusing the KING.

Each and every wife of husband claims that my husband is innocent and each and every mother claims that his son is innocent but some extent we can believe if it is in India but we cannot believe if it happens in Saudi.
Anybody can open FB account in anybody's name and anybody can upload posts but the most important thing is prior to arrest they will verify which IP address (most of the people & especially mother/wife does not know about IP address) used to upload the posts based on this they will arrest. Forget about the conspiracies and all; it would not work in Saudi.
For your kind information Saudi Police will not harm any innocents; we are here since two decades.
We can pray for his early release & contact MEA through your local representative for his release.
Simply; conspiracy innocent it does not work in Saudi.

Wish he is innocent and comes out soon. Probably a lesson to hardcore bhakthas luring financially weak youths for their political gains. They often make mountain out of mole using religion aspects for their political gain and mass support! Such poor youth get carried away are ultimate sufferers !

If he is innocent im sure he will be released. May the almighty help him.. Also ts important to identify the culprits behind the creation of the face account and the post.. The punishment should be so that it should create fear among people those who think of doing that in the future.

Gulf countries have efficient cyber experts working for their police department. They can easily find out the origin of the post. Nothing to worry. If he is innocent he will be released. But if he is guilty, I think diplomatic request for his pardon is required.

Agreed . very true . In Gulf countries, AC technician's earn good amount of salary i.e around minumum 70K-80 India rupees per month + Overtime as well..

Everyone should be thankful for earning good salary in gulf countries or any another abroad countries, In return they invest in India . look after family well...Very sad incident and sure social media would provoked him to post such posts...

Our brother Harish himself has agreed that he has committed a mistake. Now its our duty, being his brothers to free him from his punishments.Let us all work together to get Harish back to our country. Islam has never taught us to be happy looking at someone else’s pain.Just imagine the distress his family may going through.

My dear brother’s who are residing in Saudi Arabia, please try to help him get out of this trouble and may he safely return to India and his family .
