Doha: M Pallonji emerge champions of Gulf Lights Cricket Tournament

Doha, Dec 9: M Pallonji won the 3rd Gulf lights Cricket Tournament 2019 Ist Division title with a comfortable 6 wickets victory over CCRC at the Losail Cricket Complex.

CCRC won the toss and opted to bat first. CCRC top order batsmen failed in a giving a good start to their team. CCRC lost 4 quick wickets in the first 6 overs and scored only 27 runs. Later some good partnership between Muzammil ( 27 ) and Gull ( 27 ) steadied the innings and took score up to 55 for 4 in 10 overs. Thereafter, CCRC losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out for 100 runs in 19.2 overs.



For M Pallonji, Edrick and Efaz took 3 wickets each and Deekshit took 2 wickets.

In Reply, M Pallonji started well and completed the target of 101 in 15th over losing only 5 wickets. Rauf made 25 runs and Captain Neeraj made 19 runs.

For CCRC, Omar and Gull took 2 wickets each.

Edrick of M Pallonji was adjudged as Man of the Finals.

Best Allrounder – Razik of M Pallonji
Best Wicket Keeper – Neeraj of M Pallonji

At the prize distribution ceremony the chief Guest Seema Mubin, technical director of Gulf Lights along with guests of honour Dr Mubin of PHCC and Abid of Gems Wellington School distributed the winners, runners up trophies, cash awards and over 250 prizes.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by supporters and well-wishers and ended with complimentary refreshments and a lucky draw for all spectators.
