Thai Kannada Balaga celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali in Thailand

Thailand, Dec 2: Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB), an association of Kannadigas living in Thailand, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Deepavali Bangkok Hotel Lotus Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand, recently.

The most awaited event for the Kannadigas of Thailand commenced with the lighting of lamp by esteemed dignitaries, Venktesh Hegde, Shoba Hegde, Venktesh Badchai, Sunetra Badachai, president Ravi Mysore and secretory Wilson Pinto Shamboor.

The inaugural speech was delivered by Suprabha Shetty. The theme for the day was Namma karavali with Mangaluru Mallige which indeed brought back lots of memories for Canarities and also a display of the coastal culture to rest of the people gathered there. It was a day filled with fun and frolic as host for cultural events Vijeth Hegde with his team gave out some stand out performances. Young and emerging entertainer Vinol Joy D’Souza filled the stage by entertaining the audience with some exciting games.

Senior members of Thai Kannada Balaga felicitated Durga Mouli for being awarded as Adarsh Mahila which was held at New Delhi. To bid an adieu to the cultural events, there was one special event of Yakshagana Prasanga Kamsa Vadhe from the team Yaksha Sambhrama Hulimavu all the way from Bengaluru which is first ever cultural event of Thai Kannada Balaga in Thailand.

Team members Praveen Bilyavar and Praveen Kumar Puttur captured event moments with their skills on photography. Masala Magazine team Bangkok also covered the glimpse of the event. Yogish Pai organized the background music.

The event turned out to be a grand success with pocket-full of entertainment and tasty Indian food such as kooshmanda halwa, and golibaje along with masala tea. Wilson Pinto Shamboor rendered the vote of thanks.
