Hubballi: Couple whose marriage was fixed, end lives separately

Daijiworld Media Network – Hubballi (EP)

Hubballi, Nov 30: In a shocking incident reported here, a young couple who was engaged and preparing to get married, committed suicide separately.

It is said that the girl took the extreme step as the boy did not respond to her telephone calls. The boy also committed suicide subsequently at his residence by hanging from the ceiling fan.

The parents of Rekha Poojar (19) and Vishnu Pagalpur (20) had consented to their marriage five months ago as the couple was in love. The wedding was scheduled to take place in January, 2020. They were engaged three months ago.

During engagement

Rekha had tried to telephone Vishnu on November 27 but Vishnu had not responded to the calls even after five attempts. Rekha, who apparently assumed that Vishnu was not interested in her anymore, consumed poison and committed suicide. Though she was rushed to a hospital, she failed to respond to treatment and died on Thursday early morning.

Vishnu, who was aghast, was present in the hospital on Thursday till the body of Rekha was taken to the mortuary. He was speaking as usual to his mother and sister. He visited his grandmother’s house before proceeding to his residence. However he hanged himself inside his room an hour later.

The graveyard in the settlement area was witness to the final rites of the lovers.

    I fully agree with you.
Those days romance/love notes only by mail.
Telephone calls used to come on neighbors phone (curtsy of good neighbors)
There were no trouble makers like BD or moral police.
Still life went on full swing!

Stupids. India needs to change it's education policy. In social studies we have been taught useless things which doesn't even help us 1% in our life. Social studies should teach how to deal with problems when it strikes in our life .
Suicide is the reason because we have not been taught how to deal with any small problems in life when we were young studying at schools.
The way & speed in which rapes, murders, suicides happen in India, population will decrease automatically within years which needs to be reversed.
Parents , Religious leaders should teach all of their followers the value of human life first.

It's sad two young lives have been lost, now coming to the point girl committing suicide becoz of someone not picking phone is stupid but if something else (parental pressure,bf issues, other problems etc) only she or her family knows whats the truth. Now coming to boy what options do a person have who would be naturally booked on dowry charges, abatement to sucide his whole life would have turned upside down when the girl.committed sucide the.police wud pick up his fmly ND himself and put them behind bars and after decade or years of agony visiting courts and police station they may be released. I have faced false cases when my wife who is a engineer herself has filed false dowry cases because I said I can't leave my widowed mother as her health is detoriating and don't want her to end her.life in vradashram, as well she wanted my whole salary and all my.property but till date she has neither spent a single penny on me or my fmly. If I don't speak to her fmly even for date she goes in rudravatar and starts fight and uses casual violence and ppl thk she's women she can't indulge in physical violence so I believe criminals are genderless.

Humans, unlike other God's creations, are emotionally volatile.... During a crisis, they succumb to the worst negative actions, which irrevocably destroys the families.. RIP

Very sorry for both the families. Our young adults need counseling and training how to handle emotions. Earlier there were hardships and the young used to mature well. Now it's all about mobile and internet and any network failure results in mental imbalance.
